March 2013

It is Spring again and everything is coming alive.   In the gallery we are putting up new works many of them based on Winter in Wales: Raul is exploring his reaction to the emotional texture he experiences here.   Swirls of snow sweep across black and gold accented landscapes made prominent by a process he refuses to divulge but which gives the reality of 3D to the images.

A fascination with wooden fish still has Raul in its grip and he has spent many winter hours creating individual shapes and colours which will be shown throughout April and May as we move towards Pembrokeshire Fish Week |(www.pembrokeshirefishweek.co.uk). This year we will be launching a new exhibition of works based on the Pembrokeshire coastline by Raul (artworks and music) and by Heather (photography). The exhibition will begin on the first day of Fish Week 22nd June 2013 and all are invited along to the official opening running from 2pm to 5pm where you can enjoy the gallery and a glass of wine!

At the end of that week we will be holding a Jazz and Tapas evening 29th June 2013 starting at 7.30pm. Raul and Nic Turner will be playing their own particular band of jazz and supper will be served tapas style at individual tables in the main gallery area.   There is a limited number of tables available so early booking is advisable (01437 721907).

March 15th 2013 is the beginning of the new season of exhibitions at The Waterfront Gallery, Milford Haven (www.thewaterfrontgallery.co.uk postcode SA73 3AF).   Both Raul and Heather will be showing there. Do go along if you get a chance as it is a gallery which  showcases a frequently changing selection of art across all the media. They are open from Monday to Saturday each week.

March 23rd 2013   Raul and his Jazz Ensemble are playing again at the Jazz CafĂ© at Oriel y Parc, St Davids.   This is virtually sold out already (11th March 2013) but other sessions will take place during the Summer. The food which Katie serves is absolutely delicious and with the style of music being full of life it makes for a great evening out.
